economy grew 14.6 per cent year on year in the first three-quarters of this year and the
PRD region represents 95 per cent of Guangdong's economy. Despite this stellar growth, the

to South America
HKGCC concluded an eleven-day visit to Miami, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Santiago last month. This was the first Chamber study mission to South America since 1992. In each of the cities visited, the Chamber delegation was just ahead of President Hu Jintao on his South American tour before the APEC Leaders Meeting.

Going Solar
Solar electricity generation facilities at Wanchai Tower reduce the building's contribution to greenhouse gas emissions by 23 tonnes annually. The project, the largest solar electricity generation system in Hong Kong, is a pilot scheme run by the government's Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) to determine if photovoltaic (PV) solar panels installed on buildings can be practical and economically viable.
