Blossoms in 2001 - New Logo
Unveiled
To mark its 140th anniversary, the
Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) has taken the opportunity to review its
visual identity and is pleased to announce the launch of a new logo and supporting design
system. The new logo combines tradition with modernity and gives a sense of the
international nature of this Hong Kong-based pre-eminent business organization.
On February 22, the Hong Kong SAR Chief
Executive, the Honourable Tung Chee-hwa, and HKGCC Chairman C C Tung presided over the
unveiling ceremony of the new logo at the inaugural luncheon for HKGCC's "140th
Anniversary Distinguished Speakers Series."
The new logo features the Hong Kong General
Chamber of Commerce's initials 'HKGCC' with a Bauhinia flower,
the icon for the Hong Kong SAR, placed within the last letter of the wordmark 'HKGCC'.
HKGCC Director, Dr. Eden Y Woon said:
"The acronym HKGCC has often been used by us in past years, and now we have simply
formalized its use—using both a traditional and a modern font—as part of the look of our new logo. The Bauhinia, representing Hong Kong,
has been rendered in a dynamic and fluid style that echoes our vigorous and energetic
corporate image."
Dr. Woon added: "We have been helping
business since 1861, and we plan to continue to do so indefinitely."
